George Harold Harrison, MBE, (Liverpool, 24 de Fevereiro de 1943 — Los Angeles, 29 de Novembro de 2001), foi um músico britânico, famoso por ter sido o guitarrista, compositor e cantor dos Beatles. Foi também produtor de cinema.

George Harrison nasceu em 25 de fevereiro de 1943 em Liverpool, Inglaterra. Harold, o pai, era motorista de ônibus e membro ativo do sindicato de sua categoria e Louise, a mãe, era dona de casa. Sua família tinha origem irlandesa já que seus avós maternos vieram de Wexford. Durante sua infância ele viveu em uma casa localizada na 12 Arnold Grove, no bairro de Wavertree, Liverpool. Em 1950 a família se mudou para 25 Upton Green, em Speke. George tinha ainda dois irmãos e uma irmã (Peter, Harry e Louise).

Aos 11 anos, após passar em um exame, George começou a freqüentar o Liverpool Institute for Boys (atual, Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts), onde ele conheceu Paul McCartney. Harrison e McCartney não só estudavam na mesma a escola como também moravam no mesmo bairro, em Speke, e freqüentemente pegavam o mesmo ônibus para ir à escola.

George comprou sua primeira guitarra aos 12 anos, uma Egmond, por 3 libras e 10 shillings. Pouco depois comprou sua primeira guitarra decente, uma Hofner President e formou um grupo de skiffle chamado The Rebels com seu irmão Peter e um amigo, Arthur Kelly. Quando Paul McCartney descobriu que George tocava guitarra, convidou-o para ver a banda da qual ele fazia parte. Em 1958, Paul apresentou George a John Lennon que acabou o aceitando na banda Quarrymen, que se tornaria posteriormente The Beatles.
