BIOGRAFIA

Mercyful Fate é uma banda da Dinamarca formada em 1981. O grupo é associado ao black metal por suas letras de clima sombrio, apesar de possuir uma sonoriade de Heavy Metal bastante “puro”. As músicas são caracterizadas por estruturas complexas, virtuose nas guitarras e falsetes altíssimos executados pelo vocalista King Diamond.

Após o lançamento do aclamado Don’t Break The Oath, a banda se dissolveu devido a divergências musicais. King Diamond seguiu em carreira solo e Hank Shermann formou a banda de Hard Rock Fate.

A banda se reuniria para lançar o excelente álbum In the Shadows em 1993. Após o lançamento de 9 a banda entrou em hiato, enquanto King Diamond dedica-se à sua carreira solo.
